About The District

East Jefferson County Sanitation District was founded in 1949, and now serves over 1,400 customers. The District is not associated with the City of Lakewood or Edgewater or part of any water district.

The District collects sanitary sewer only (sinks and toilets). We do not collect stormwater runoff, nor do we collect trash.

The District’s sewage is treated by Metro Water Recovery. We are responsible for the maintenance, repairs and replacement of the sewer main lines located in streets and alleys.

Board Meetings

Second Tuesday of every month at 5:00 p.m.  All meetings are open to the public. The meetings may be held by video conference and will be accessible for the public to attend using video conference links published in the monthly meeting notices on the District’s website.
