East Jefferson County Sanitation District was founded in 1949, and now serves over 1,400 customers. The District is not associated with the City of Lakewood or Edgewater, or part of any water district.
The District collects sanitary sewer only (sinks and toilets). We do not collect stormwater runoff, nor do we collect trash.
The District’s sewage is treated by the Metro Water Recovery. We are responsible for maintenance, repairs and replacement of the sewer main lines located in streets and alleys.
An elected, five-member Board of Directors governs our District. For more information, please see our 2022 East Jefferson County Sanitation District Transparency Notice.
